Can nail margins run down 4 ft side rather than across the top? Being installed over split faced block so wall is not smooth Does wall pad have plywood back?

Our installation for the Nail Margin option is only on the top and bottom. Because the product has a durable wood back you would be able to fix it to the wall by attaching through the wood backing at an angle on the sides. The wood used is durable and thick enough to handle this type of installation.
